Crafts can be used to develop many important skills used for success in everyday life! Sequencing is the ability to perform the steps of a task in sequential order. This is an important skill needed to perform daily routines independently, such as getting dressed, taking a shower, brushing your teeth, etc. It is also an important skill to master in order to follow multi-step directions, have good time management skills, reading comprehension, and narrative writing skills! Occupational therapists and speech language pathologists often collaborate with one another to help build these skills in children.
